Here is an update from Gerald on the football match between Kandara orphanage and the Thomas Barnardos orpanage. As always it was a very exciting fanatical event!!
Update from Gerald Thiongo
It has been a good time since I came for August holiday although I went back for two weeks holiday tuition. I’m getting on well with my studies although they are sometimes tough but I’m coping up with the situation. This being the last term, I’m preparing for my final exam therefore I have to be focused and test myself with examinable areas.
When I came from school after two weeks I offered myself to assist the standard eight candidates in their weak areas. We were also going to practise for the long awaited game (*of football) between us and Barnardo’s. When the time came, we entered in the field majestically as we were longing for them so much. This was because, they do defeat us every time although I’m always absent because I’m in school. That particular day it was opposite of what they expected b’coz we beat them two goals during the first half. The field was full of cheering from our cheering squad for they had never seen that before. They couldn’t believe because our team was so committed to the game and they could not get fired until the game was over.
That day I was the man of the match b’coz I scored the first goal through a penalty shoot out and also I had been told a hint of what they do during the second half so I had to play a defensive game such that they didn’t score any goal and we were the winners of the day. It was a fantastic day to the team and the spectators of Kandara.
